ALEXIS AVLAMIS
Born in Athens in 1979. He received an early art education from the
Bennington College of Art, Vermont, and later earned a B.F.A.
(Honours) in Painting and Mosaic from the Athens School of Fine Arts.
His work is influenced by Symbolism and Surrealist Automatism. Guided
by streams of consciousness, he juxtaposes existing and fabricated
visuals, creating dreamlike landscapes of the mind. His work has been
exhibited and published internationally. Shows include: Cardinal
Planes, Korean Cultural Center, New York, USA, the 31st September
competition, Alexandria Museum of Art, Los Angeles, USA, the Stencil
Art Prize, Australia, and the 7th 2017 ArtSlant Prize Showcase
(Painting, winner). He is an International Emerging Artist
laureate in the Drawing and Illustration category. His art can be
found in both private and museum collections internationally.
