Beautiful images full of joy and tenderness, portraits of innocence and pureness, openness and spontaneity, lovable naivete and boundless
faith in the world. A distinct mix of qualities and a worldview lost to us as we have grown older, but one that we glimpse again on the day of their baptism – a sweet reminder of our childhood selves gifted to us by the charming little humans to who the day and the spotlight belong, so long as we know the way to draw them out…
The look in a child’s eyes, radiant and meaningful, reveals all that they cannot yet put into words – the sea of new emotions and sensations, of new and bewildering experiences, everything they don’t quite know how to share with us… Joy, confusion and myriads of questions are all written plainly and softly across a face of sheer, natural beauty – the face of a child that in less than an hour will laugh and cry and hear people laugh along, listen to unfamiliar melodies entwined with unfamiliar words, become undressed, immersed,
and dressed anew. Vivid images, bursting with emotion – genuine, powerful, offered plainly and freely the way only a child could gift it – are caught through my cinema and photography lens, collecting in a series of snapshots that recount every moment of this special day. With the utmost
respect for the ceremony, I look for, find and capture every beautiful image, every striking, eloquent portrait that lends a deeper meaning to each photograph and deserves to live on forever…
